The Millenium Atlas is a comprehensive review of the petroleum geology of the central and northern North Sea published by the Geological Society of London in 2003.
Comprising 20 chapters, each authored by different groups of authors from the oil industry using data provided by oil companies.
Maps, photographs, seismic sections, and borehole data are presented and used to provide a detailed analysis ranging from Tectonic evolution, Structural framework, pre-Devonian through to the Holocene, and various general technical subjects such as pore pressure and geothermal gradients as well as the history of North Sea exploration.
Why is this in the News Section?
Well it is available to MVGS members to borrow.
Unfortuneately it is too large and heavy (10kg) to be stored in the Library Cupboard so it will have to brought along to the monthly meetings by request.
Contact: alanbrindley@hotmail.com if you would like to see /borrow it
