Welcome to the Mole Valley Geological Society

The Mole Valley Geological Society normally meets monthly for lectures, soirées and occasional field excursions to study the geology of the Mole Valley and beyond. Founded in 1979, the Society is a Local Group of the Geologists’ Association, founded in 1858. Visitors are very welcome. No previous geological knowledge is needed, just intense curiosity about the Earth and its history.

Meeting Information

Meetings are held in the Dorking United Reformed Church Follett Hall off Church Street & West Street, (ample adjacent parking). Postcode: RH4 1BS.

Coffee & biscuits served from 7.30pm. Lectures start at 8.00 and finish at about 9.30.

Visitors are most welcome. Non-members as Guests £4.00 Children under 18 & students £1.00. These fees include complimentary tea or coffee and biscuits, sometimes even chocolate ones.

Although most of us are double-vaccinated and probably boosted, Coronavirus Pandemic restrictions are once again making it difficult to hold our lectures in person at the Follett Hall.  The January meeting will be replaced with a Zoom lecture and we will continue to keep the situation under review.
